Has anyone tried f or small businesses to have a Linux server backing up a Windows DHCP-DNS server (or the opposite) ?
Both servers provides other services to end users.
I'm wondering if using the same software on both operating systems would allow backup or failover.
Regards

Next assignment is to provide primary and secondry mode of operation for Dual DHCP DNS server, where secondary will backup primary. Windows or Linux should not matter here. I am researching and working on this.
Thanks

Version 5.0 (Currently Beta) does the Zone Backup. There are many schemes possible like using 2 Dual Servers or 1 Dual Server and 1 Third party Server. Linux or Windows does not matter. One Server can be on Windows, other can be Linux. It support Full Zone Transfer, AXFR and DHCP Synchronization through DHCP Inform messages.
