Great Utility...
I like the function-ability of it searching for the USB dg-200, USGlobalSat utility has to be manually configured. Real pain if you plug it into a different USB port!
Especially like the download not converting the date & time to the local machine time zone. I prefer the date & time to always be in UTC time.
Two things I that I do like on the USGlobalSat utility it has the ability to select the downloads by date and also the map display of the track and points. Would it be possible to add these functions into the Toolbox?

I tried to make DG-200 Toolbox as simple and and reliable as I could, and that meant making some drastic choices.
*
Let me elaborate a bit.
It all started with the father of the DG-200, the DG-100. A great device which shipped with (what was at the time) inadequate software. I decided to write my own client thanks to the really great support of GlobalSat and made DG-100 Manager, with as many features I could. A few month later it was ported to the .net programming language by Reubben Bluff as DGManager.NET which added more and more great features.
In the same time I felt the need for a smaller, more straightforward tool to just extract the data, and DG-100 Toolbox was born.
I found out that I only used DG-100 Toolbox, because there's so much more tools suited for my other needs (some even written by me, like GPX Editor) and never looked back to DG-100 Manager.
Last year a friend of mine spotted the DG-200 and I immediately decided to put my experience to good use, DG-200 Toolbox was born.

After all this years and projects, I prefer to have multiple tools that do their job well, than one that does everything, but not just as well. I agree with you that such a need may exist, but I can't fulfill it right now (and probably never will).
*
I use DG-200 Toolbox to extract data and then to erase the device memory. Then I load my GPX file in GPX Editor (also available on sourceforge), to display and edit it.
*
I hope you will find a solution that satisfies you, even if it's not my own.

PK
