These lines are the same for all 3 CHAIN variables. And the messages is "Failed chain". As a side note, devmon-svn seems to run away quite a bit and push the load up substantially. You should be able to 1)get the index with INDEX, 2)do some math with the index, then 3)use CHAIN to get back: hwLswFrameIndexIndex : INDEX {hwLswFrameIndex} # 0,1,2 .... hwLswFrameIndexMatch : MATH : ({hwLswFrameIndexIndex} +1) x 65536 # 65536,131072 hwCpuCostRateFrame : CHAIN {hwCpuCostRate} {hwLswFrameIndexMatch} hwMemFreeFrame : CHAIN {hwMemFree} {hwLswFrameIndexMatch} Now you should have something like this: hwCpuCostRateFrame.0 = Gauge32: 84 hwCpuCostRateFrame.1 = Gauge32: 59 hwCpuCostRateFrame.2 = Gauge32: 57 hwMemFreeFrame.0 = Gauge32: 41651576 hwMemFreeFrame.1 = Gauge32: 35982132 hwMemFreeFrame.2 = Gauge32: 36261272 You may want to use devmon from svn for this, I think there were some small bugfixes in the INDEX operator. I'm working on a template for a bunch of my 3com (now HP I guess) switches that are stacked together, specifically the 5500G-EI is what I'm working on right now. The data I'm getting from the different repeaters matches up, except that the leaf number is not the same, e.g., 0 = 65536, 1=131072; or more generally n=(m+1)*65536. As well there is no accessible leaf, branch, or table that lists this mapping. How can I modify the leaf number of one repeater to match up with the leaf number of another repeater so that all the data can be displayed in one table? Sample data... Enumerate the stack (i.e. how many units) hwLswFrameIndex.0 = INTEGER: 0 hwLswFrameIndex.1 = INTEGER: 1 hwLswFrameIndex.2 = INTEGER: 2 So far so good what do the cpu "total" OIDs look like? hwCpuCostRate.65536 = Gauge32: 84 hwCpuCostRate.131072 = Gauge32: 59 hwCpuCostRate.196608 = Gauge32: 57 And the memory? hwMemFree.65536 = Gauge32: 41651576 hwMemFree.131072 = Gauge32: 35982132 hwMemFree.196608 = Gauge32: 36261272 The table I have (for memory) is: {mem_used} ({mem_used_per}%)|{mem_free} ({mem_free_per}%)|{mem_total} The table I'd like to have is: unit{unit_number}|{mem_used} ({mem_used_per}%)|{mem_free} ({mem_free_per}%)|{mem_total} That way I can seewhich unit is having a problem, and graph the cpu/memory/other on a per unit basis. Hello, I am having an issue with the if_load RRD graphing. I am running Xymon 4.3.0 beta 2 and Devmon 0.3.1 beta 1. I get the following error in the /var/log/xymon/rrd-status.log: 2010-08-05 09:55:08 RRD error updating /home/xymon/data/rrd/ VPN05.uhn.ca/if_load.cplane.rrd from 127.0.0.1: unknown DS name 'udpInDatagrams' This happens for all interfaces on multiple Cisco ASA's, using the cisco-asa template. Interesting thing, is that I don't know where it is getting the "udpInDatagrams" from, as this is what I get from the Devmon created webpage for RRD (doesn't show that anywhere). I have a local change here which I am playing with, which introduces a "DBTABLE" command, that works mostly like the "TABLE" command, except it updates values in the mysql db used by devmon. It is *very* basic at present, mostly because I haven't decided how to use it. This is what it looks like at present: addition to messages file: DBTABLE: Dest|Iterface|Metric1|Next Hop|Type|Proto|Mask {ipRouteDest}|{ipRouteIfName}|{ipRouteMetric1}|{ipRouteNextHop}| {ipRouteTypeName}|{ipRouteProtoName}|{ipRouteMask} result: mysql> select * from test_data where ( test='ip_route' and val='virbr0'); +-------------+---------------+----------+------------+----------+--------+ | host | instance | test | time | attr | val | +-------------+---------------+----------+------------+----------+--------+ | localdevmon | 192.168.122.0 | ip_route | 1269293660 | Iterface | virbr0 | +-------------+---------------+----------+------------+----------+--------+ 1 row in set (0.00 sec) addition to messages file: DBTABLE: If_name|Address|Netmask|Broadcast {ipAdEntIfName}|{ipAdEntAddr}|{ipAdEntNetMask}|{ipAdEntBcastAddr} result: mysql> select * from test_data where ( test='if_ipv4' and instance='virbr0'); +-------------+----------+---------+------------+-----------+---------------+ | host | instance | test | time | attr | val | +-------------+----------+---------+------------+-----------+---------------+ | localdevmon | virbr0 | if_ipv4 | 1256884620 | Address | 192.168.122.1 | | localdevmon | virbr0 | if_ipv4 | 1256884620 | Netmask | 255.255.255.0 | | localdevmon | virbr0 | if_ipv4 | 1256884620 | Broadcast | 1 | +-------------+----------+---------+------------+-----------+---------------+ 3 rows in set (0.00 sec) At present, it just runs a single SQL query per repeater: insert into test_data (host, test, instance, attr, val, time) values ('$device','$test','$dbvals[0]','$dbkeys[$i]','$dbvals[$i]',$time) on duplicate key update val=values(val),time=values(time) If this is useful to you, I can give you the patch to play with, and you can give some feedback on what changes you think are necessary to make it more useful. > And lastly i love what you guys are doing with devmon keep the good work > up!! Hi Buchan, How are you? I Hope that everything is doing good for you right now. I have good news of the v3 devmon support version. I've decided to use Net_SNMP_util.pm utility and after some hard work, first to discover how the things works and then how SNMP_session works and how they are parsed. In my first release, I'm using only 3 parameters from v3 ( username, password and protocol) and the others can be added with easy changes. I will clean some code and send to you so you can make tests too. In Net_SNMP_util.pm the sysUptime is not parsed in seconds, the result is already parsed in days HH:MM:SS format. So for example the cpu monitoring 'sysuptime' don't work as the previous version. Do you think that already exist a way in devmon to transform it or we have to develop? I'm asking this because I would like to maintain my cpu uptime monitoring and the new version needs to be compatible with the old one templates, right? Regards, Mario. Hi support I am monitoring a lot equipment many of them with the same templates, for example, cisco routers 7206, I need filter some interface lest say (Gigabitethernet1/0/1) is down in router 7206_1, but in router 7206_2 this interface is active. So if I write in Exception template: ifName (This OID show me the name of interface) : noalarm : Gigabitethernet1/0/1 This don't show me alarm in router 7206_1 and also in 7206_2, because the name in each router is the same than the other one. How I can make a difference between both router, in order to only filtering one interfaces in the first one, and continue monitoring the second one. Thanks for your kindly support. This is done with the threshholds file. Check the tests in the tarball I sent. They do go red if there are issues. We found a dead fan when I implemented it :-) On Mon, Jul 19, 2010 at 2:33 PM, Stef Coene <ste...@do...> wrote: > On Monday 19 July 2010, Vernon Everett wrote: > > Not sure I understand. > > Explain? > When there is a problem with a port or something else (power supply, > segmented > switch, ...) the switch becomes marginal.
