This email is to inform you about the release of version '1.9.1' of 'syslog-ng' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/syslog-ng/ The changes in this release are as follows: Instead of using a custom, generic I/O library, this release is based on glib. This release is still not intended for production use. It has a good number of new features and a couple of them may not be stable enough. Project description: syslog-ng, as the name shows, is a syslogd replacement, but with new functionality for the new generation. The original syslogd allows messages only to be sorted based on priority/facility pairs; syslog-ng adds the possibility to filter based on message contents using regular expressions. The new configuration scheme is intuitive and powerful. Forwarding logs over TCP and remembering all forwarding hops makes it ideal for firewalled environments. If you would like to cancel subscription to releases of this project, login to freshmeat.net and choose 'home' from the personal menubar at the top of the page.
