This email is to inform you about the release of version '2.9.8' of 'joe' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/joe/ The changes in this release are as follows: Context help has returned in this release. Some code clean up was done. A security issue with backup files opened when setuid/setgid was addressed. Bug fixes include signal handling and various segfaults and deadlocks. Project description: JOE has the feel of most IBM PC text editors: The key-sequences are reminiscent of WordStar and Turbo-C. JOE is much more powerful than those editors, however. JOE has all of the features a UNIX user should expect: full use of termcap/terminfo, excellent screen update optimizations, simple installation, and all of the UNIX-integration features of VI.
