Hi all, I was trying to get apache 2.x SSL to work, ugh, bugs, contradictory documents. So I looked at thttpd - ho!! - no SSL support (does it really belong in DL then ??) Since I just installed Webmin... I created a directory for a tiny OO dataserver / html tool I created for web desktops next to the other ones and it works just fine. Since I have an OO data editor running w/ no truly effective security the password function for Webmin is ideal But.. not if you are trying to download extra packages for the harddrive or for experimental purposes. Also, if we want to download configuration -- the etc.tar.gz -- the password function has to be automated. I wouldn't even know where to start. LDAP is persistent, it just won't go away. I suggested it before so I think I will try a little DL/eLSD proof-of-concept. My configuration of choice is the transport of the complex structure. The structure is completely visable, but as soon as I figure out how, I will encrypt the data. Authentication is via MD5 challenge. A goody but oldy. I have been doing so in perl for years, my new idea is to replace the class structure w/ XML (see water) with the same embedded binary code and encrypted data. That way typical XML readers could see the structure. My OO html/data combo is designed to do this, but I can't spend my whole life working on it. Since the promised Perl web portal is a week behind delivery, I may start putting content in this tool, called DepthDB. I also have a sourceforge project by the same name, but never populated it. Damn time is hard to find, even when you are unemployed. Dang -- I really want to get BOCHS working w/ new uClibc and busybox installs. I would also like to re-awaken development on Initrd, to convert it to InitVFS. Ok, cheers folks !! ===== CXN, Inc. Contact: jo...@th...
