There was something messed up with my LFS System. btw. did you try iptraf? can you save the configuration options? i'm not sure were the problem is... I never had a chance to use it. Probably somebody on the mailing list is using it. >-- > >cu > Heiko > >We are Penguin, Resistance is futile! > >http://www.devil-linux.org > > > > > >--__--__-- Hi, The iptraf documentation: (/iptraf- 2.7.0/Documentation/messages.html) " IPTraf cannot create the configuration file. The most likely cause of " this is that you didn't properly install the " program, and the necessary directory /var/local/iptraf does not " exist. Can also be generated if you have a disk problem or if you " have too many files open. I create the directory and it works well: ~# ls /var/local/iptraf iptraf.cfg ~# But I have another pb. when I launch iptraf, I get the error: Warning: unable to tag this process The documentation says: IPTraf normally tags itself when it runs to prevent multiple instances of the statistical facilities from running. This message means the program was unable to create the necessary tag file. This may be due to a bad or improper installation. Try running the* make install* procedure or the * Setup* in the distribution's top-level directory. But I don't know what does mean "tag"; and where should stay this "necessary tag file"?
