This email is to inform you of release '4.1.24' of 'Berkeley DB' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/berkeleydb/ The changes in this release are as follows: Major changes include support for database encryption using the AES encryption standard, and support for database page checksums to allow detection of database corruption during I/O. The shared memory buffer pool code base was substantially reworked in the 4.1 release to improve concurrent throughput. Project description: The Berkeley Database (Berkeley DB) is a programmatic toolkit that provides embedded database support for both traditional and client/server applications. Berkeley DB includes b+tree, queue, extended linear hashing, fixed, and variable-length record access methods, transactions, locking, logging, shared memory caching and database recovery. DB supports C, C++, Java, and Perl APIs. DB is available for a wide variety of UNIX platforms as well as Windows NT and Windows '95 (MSVC 4, 5 and 6).
