This email is to inform you of release '1.11a26' of 'cdrecord' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/cdrecord/ The changes in this release are as follows: The data structures were modified to allow for new features in the future. The speed= option no longer defaults to speed 1, but rather to a drive-specific value that is maximum speed for modern drives. A new test that prevents writing to CD-RW media too slowly was included, the DVD write speed is now displayed correctly, and preparation has been made for allowing the -dao option to work when writing DVDs. A bug that caused it to complain when trying to write to CD-RW media at 10x or faster was also fixed. Project description: Cdrecord creates home-burned CDs with a CD-R/CD-RW recorder. It works as a burn engine for several applications. Cdrecord supports CD recorders from many different vendors; all SCSI-3/mmc and ATAPI/mmc compliant drives should also work. Supported features include IDE/ATAPI, parallel-port, and SCSI drives, audio CDs, data CDs, and mixed CDs, full multi-session support, CD-RWs (rewritable), TAO, DAO and human-readable error messages. Cdrecord includes remote SCSI support and can access local or remote CD-writers.
