This email is to inform you of release '8.3.2' of 'bind' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/bind/ The changes in this release are as follows: The IPv6 support in dig, nslookup, host, and nsupdate has been improved. A critical bugfix was made to prevent DNS storms. If you are using BIND 8.3.0, then you need to upgrade. Note that all 8.x versions of BIND are deprecated in favor of BIND 9.2.1. If you must run BIND 8, use nothing earlier than 8.2.5-REL or 8.3.2-REL. Do not run BIND 4 under any circumstances. Project description: The Berkeley Internet Name Domain (BIND) implements an Internet name server for Unix operating systems. The BIND consists of a server (or `daemon') called `named' and a resolver library. A name server is a network service that enables clients to name resources or objects and share this information with other objects in the network.
