I was actually hoping to use the Gentoo security patches, which should make our life a bit easier. Could you upload your scripts so I can take a look at the 64 bit stuff? I have a couple of ideas which you probably already implemented. ;-) Otherwise I agree with your statement, it's probably best to give the new glibc a shot.
