The DSL modem is connected to DL via eth0. I have a two card configuration. 1 for internet, and 1 to the local network. You find the current log message on console 10 (switch with ALT F10). DL doesn't write the logs to a file per default, since it's running of the ramdisk. If you got a harddisk in you system, you can configure DL to use it (see docs). Then enable the logging to the hdd in /etc/syslog-ng/syslog-ng.conf.
