I was also wondering about "best practices". Regarding Tomcat, putting al= l the dynamic stuff in /var gives enough flexibility, such as (re-)deployin= g applications. But If I would like to for example add a new JDBC driver to Tomcat's libraries in /opt, I would in fact have to rebuild my CD, like Eric mentioned. But I could live with that, the old CD ROM in the PC I intend to use for my Devil Server happily accepts rewritables :-) Torsten |
