Well it is unfortunately not.

I just opened issue 98 in Mantis with a small patch.

Hi,

I just reconfigured my old Devil-Linux 1.3.something to 1.4.2.

Everything went mostly smoothly but for the ipv6 option of pppd which is
not recognized:

pppd[5831]: unrecognized option 'ipv6'

Is pppd compiled with IPV6 support ?

Although the option your suggested did not work for me, you pushed me in the right direction.

The libata.dma not working for me. But searching on libata usage, I found people have also  tried nodma=sda and ide_core.nodma=0.0 Looked it up in Kernel Documentation / ide / ide.txt And the "ide_core.nodma=0.0" worked!

	ide_core.nodma=0.0
	as is "nodma=[interface_number.device_number]" to disallow DMA for a device

Hm... It's a difficult question. I believe it's due to historical reasons, and 
it's the place where all Makefiles reside.

No. update_md5sum is a development tool, need to recalculate checksums for 
updated sources. In you case, you need to run "update_src" to get sources and 
"cvs -z3 
-d:pserver:ano...@de...:/cvsroot/devil-linux co 
build" to update scripts (and checksum file)

 While attempting to build Devil-Linux 1.4.1 I came across several build problems. Three of them are just
  minor annoyances but #1 is a show stopper. I am running the build on Debian Lenny (32 bit) installed
  in /usr/src/lfssystem. I was previously able to successfully build 1.2 on Debian Etch also installed in
  /usr/src/lfssystem. The 1.2 build system was deleted before 1.4.1 was installed. I am about to install

   After looking around I found these three links in (chroot) /usr/include:

    if there is a bigger problem with the install (there is no /build/tmp/linux-2.6.32/include/asm-i386
    directory) or configuration (CONFIG_LINUX_VERSION is set to 2.6). I looked through the discuss mailing
    list and there were no previous entries about this so I seem to be the only one seeing this. Any ideas
    as to what I am doing wrong ?

This is probably not be helpful, but I have the same issue with the OpenFiler distribution. I used to run it off a Compact Flash on kernel versions 2.6.26 and earlier, but it stopped working on 2.6.29 with something similar to your message.

Afaik, it was tracked down to the legacy IDE package being removed from the kernel, with the "new and improved" IDE/SATA interface not working very well against CF and IDE devices for some users. I ended up swapping the CF with a SATA SDD device.

 

I _thought_ it has been fixed in 2.6.3x kernels, but no idea what kernel version DL 1.4.2 or 1.3.6 uses, so this may not be related to your issue...

that it's clear how to fix - we need some time to think.

As a workaround (ugly, I know) you can change the mode for already created bond, 
i.e.
for bond0 - MODULE_OPTS="max_bonds=2 mode=2 miimon=100"

Hello.

Do you knouw, if is possible to start up multiple bond devices with 
diffedent modules parameters?
For example bond0 in mode XOR and bond1 in mode 802.3ad.

I was only be able to startup 2 bond devices with same config. Bond0 
ifcfg-file startup two devices (MODULE_OPTS="max_bonds=2 mode=2 
miimon=100), but in ifcfg-bond1 config file MODULE_OPTS="mode=4 
miimon=100" had no effect :(.

Is there any possibility how to configure it?

I've re-enabled kerberos but I still had problems.  It won't compile krb5 even
though it's enabled.  I had to go into krb5 directory and run make there.

It's happier now.   I guess make menuconfig is not quite aptitude ;-)

GSSAPI it's a part of Kerberos. So, either enable Kerberos or remove " 
--with-krb5=/usr/include" from samba makefile.

Default except I deselected a few things in make menuconfig including 
kerberos.  Is that wrong?

surprised if we're missing some dependency.

Hi,.

	Attempting build of the DL system using latest.

Samba coughs up an error compiling net_dns.

It's saying OM_uint32 undeclared in function DoDNSUpdate.

It seems like it's something to do with gss.  Googling throws up 
possibility of GSSAPI headers missing.  However there is a file 
/usr/include/dst/gssapi.h

It's probably finger trouble, something I've forgotten to do.

Anybody seen this before, tell me what's wrong.

I am baffled by this:

I have several firewalls that offer VPN with pptp and the winbind plugin
to authenticate against AD. For several days now I keep getting reports
that clients don't connect anymore and come up with the
"Error 778: It was not possible to verify the identity of the server" 
message.

Debug messages from pptp tell me that the Authentication against AD
works but that the client disconnects after that:

Has anyone successfully used openl2tp on DL? I am getting an error
when I try to start it:

    RPC: Port mapper failure - RPC: Unable to receive
    openl2tpd[3886]: unable to register UDP RPC program

I also get a similar error when trying to start ippoold.

I want to use text config files (no need for l2tpconfig I don't think).

Since CVS isn't working, I don't have a -server version I can upload  
(gets generated nightly from CVS).

I hit this problem before, you need the server version of DL to work 
with ioncube. But there is no server version of 1.4.2 yet...

I have ioncube working with 1.4.1-i686-server version.

i can send the httpd.conf as attachment, but I think it's not nessesary, 
because that your version are running fine gives the right hint:
I have one extension in the /etc/php.ini:
zend_extension = /opt/php/ioncube/ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so

If I comment this line, the apache starts... (but the website need this 
extension).
There are a new version on http://www.ioncube.com/loaders.php but with 
this extension happens the same...

Could you send the httpd.conf as an attachment?

I added a couple of extra apache modules this time around, but they  
shouldn't cause any issues if they're not loaded.

You could try removing parts of the config file and see if it changes  
anything. Maybe don't load any modules and playing with other parts.  
Maybe we can track down which part breaks it.
