MM: Assuming you are able in general to use from office B LAN other
TCP/IP services running on privileged ports in the same subnet as the
server (but behind the DL box), then the only places I can think of to
look are the firewall rules on the DL host, with particular reference to
port 25 plus any firewalling on the windows host, and Exchange's own IP
permissions which you can find for this purpose in the properties in
whichever SMTP virtual host you have configured.=20

is the exchange server in LAN A? If so, i'd guess that the exchange server =
has=20
a wrong (short) netmask... In any case, run=20
tcpdump -i <name of the LAN interface> host <exch server>
on the DL closest to the exchange server. Then try the telnet form remote a=
nd=20
see what happens.=20
You could have netmask problems on the client side also, of course...
but we need more info to tell for sure.=20

[Devil-Linux-discuss] Dual VPN Servers

Hi all,

I know this is slightly off topic, but here's what I'm trying todo:

I have two different networks behind my firewalls. Both are Windows domains=
=2E=20
At the moment users of one network have VPN access from the outside: on the=
ir=20
AD server, the vpn-users are all member of a special container, and I use=20
pptpd with samba/winbind/ntlm_auth via ntlm_auth-helper to authenticate the=
m.

Now, users of the other Network/Domain also need VPN access to their networ=
k=20
from outside. I can easily add a second IP to the outside NIC, and run a=20
separate pptpd, but i'd also need to instances of Samba running; this seems=
=20
exremely complicated and hard to maintain, IF I can manage to get it to wor=
k=20
at all.=20

Do you ppl have any ideas for alternatives? I could possibly use a differen=
t=20
vpn server for the second network but there has to be a windows client, and=
=20
the client setup has to be straightforward (ie openvpn is considered too ha=
rd=20
for my users).

You have to start the PCMCIA sub system.
Turn this on in /etc/sysconfig/config.
For testing just run /etc/init.d/pcmcia start .

They look like fairly standard PCMCIA cards with PCMCIA support.  I'm 
not sure why the PCMCIA modules are not available.  Someone else on the 
list might know.

The problem is that DL is CD based system and you can't just install 
modules or programs (because it's read-only filesystem).

If you really need to add them then you have to build your own image.

best way to go for firewall. I'm trying to setup firewall at home. My
question is how can I obtain NIC modules for network cards that don't seem
to be listed in the module setup portion of DL?

I've just run "The Ultimate Setup For Your Internet Connection At Home" 
script - the HTB version (see section 15.8.3 in HOWTO on above site) and 
it works (DL 1.2.11).  I mean the script doesn't fail. Whether it does 
what's wanted is another matter ;-)

DL should have all the required components.
I think shorewall (which is included in DL) also supports traffic shaping.

or over Squid Proxy ?

Background Info:

1 x Shares ADSL Line WAN Access
3-5 Internal Users by DHCP LAN

If 1-2 users are using eMule or downloading like crazy, then no needed 
traffic (eg: Mail Downloading, Skype, ...)
will be available for the rest of the users ... :-/

Actually I'm using a custom build from DL 1.2.10 with downgraded =
Heartbeat to 1.x release.

The problems I had to fight with:
heartbeat 2.x uses scripts that where not functioning in further =
releases (fixed in the meantime I think)

Next I had problems with "replay attacks" after restarting one node. I =
fixed that by fist setting heartbeat to use timestamps (hbgenmethod =
time)
And next I changed the order of the init-scripts, that heartbeat starts =
AFTER the server had startet ntp (# Required-Start: $network $time =
$syslog xntpd)

But now I would take a look at using heartbeat 2.x, so if there already =
some "case studies" out there, please let us know.

I don't think so Cyrus is having a lmtpd (daemon) for receiving. Postfix
has a lmtp client (implemented by the smtp client) for sending.

The postfix master.cf specifies the lmtp client but there is no lmtp
client in /usr/libexec/postfix (the directory where the daemon are
located).
