I am trying to filter p2p traffic at the firewall. Does DL contain any iptables module that does that? If not has anyone done it? Would you share your solution? I appreciate your help. Fred F. |

Thank you very much for the hints!!!=20 What exactly do you mean by replacing syslinux with version .36? There is only syslinux-3.51 version on the site. Should I find an older=20 syslinux-3.36 somewhere else? And how exactly should I replace it? Rename t= o=20 syslinux-3.51 and put in src folder and "make unpack" then? Hello, I am trying to install custom rebuilt DL 1.2.14 on a new Intel MB with SATA drives. No success. Kernel does not detect the hardware. Have tried different BIOS options - IDE NATIVE or AHCI, no result. When changing the BIOS to IDE LEGACY kernel detects the drives, but is unacceptable slow (2 MB/s transfer rate). Adding the line to config INITRD_MODULES="libata ata_piix" or INITRD_MODULES="libata ahci" does not help. Module libata is loaded ok, but whet loading either ahci or ata_piix I get the following error: ahci.o: init_module: No such device Any help?.. -- Best regards, Dmitry Komarov IT Project Manager SIA CITYNET 22/24 - 500 Katolu str. The only IPv6-related parameters I can find are START_IPV6_ROUTING and START_OSPF6D, which are both set to "no". The box is not a router so both should stay disabled. I activate IPv6 by modprobeing ipv6 in boot.local, is there another canonical way to do it? AFAIR I sent a couple IPv6-related patches to the devil-linux-devel list a few years back, but I don't remember how I handled this and I can't recall what was included or not. > Stupid question (have to ask): your IPv6 interfaces are up, right? There's a parameter in /etc/sysconfig/config which has to do with IPv6
(can't look it up right now), make sure that's on too.
Stupid question (have to ask): your IPv6 interfaces are up, right?

Hi folks,
I just upgraded one of my caching nameservers from Devil Linux 1.2.10
to 1.2.13. BIND no longer listens on my IPv6 interfaces. I didn't
change the config file (it still contains the "listen-on-v6 { any; };"
line). BIND binds to the IPv4 interfaces, but not to the IPv6 ones;
netstat doesn't show anything on IPv6 UDP port 53.
The machine has IPv6 connectivity and I tried both with and without
the net.ipv6.bindv6only sysctl.
Here is the relevant part of my config file:
options {
directory "/etc/named";
/*
* If there is a firewall between you and nameservers you want
* to talk to, you might need to uncomment the query-source
* directive below. Previous versions of BIND always asked
* questions using port 53, but BIND 8.1 uses an unprivileged
* port by default.
*/
// query-source address * port 53;
// allow-transfer { 192.168.1/24; };
// listen-on { 127.0.0.1; 192.168.1/24; 192.168.9/24; };
// also-notify { 192.168.2.210; };
listen-on { 127.0.0.1; 129.102.2.11; };
listen-on-v6 { any; };
statistics-file "/var/named/named.stats";
};
Syslog shows nothing unusual; only the IPv4 binds:
Jul 24 12:43:28 src@nenesse named[1497]: listening on IPv4 interface lo, 127.0.0.1#53
Jul 24 12:43:28 src@nenesse named[1497]: listening on IPv4 interface eth0, 129.102.2.11#53
