Any reason why make iso creates 2000 processes ? I mean my aditional software has some heavy install scripts but the amount of processes created by make iso is so high it kills the box after a while and so never creates an iso ... |

Ashwin, I looked over you logfiles and can't find a problem. The only thing I saw is that cdrecord complained about some kernel includes. Can you send me your .config file, then I try to compile a system with it. Which Linux distribution are you using on your compile host? Which DL version do you try to compile? 1.2 ? 1.3 ? This is then the absolute minimum the system runs with. You should at least set the options under "Build Configuration", like the security and 'compressed ISO' stuff. -- Regards Heiko Zuerker http://www.devil-linux.org |

hope this is the right place here. I installed a devel environment and want to make a quite minimal devil with NPTL. -----Forwarded Message----- From: Bob Clown <ell...@us...> To: bl...@us... Subject: Devil Linux (tarpd inclusion) Date: Fri, 20 Aug 2004 18:12:19 -0700 I was wondering if you would include, in the next build, the tarp dameon (tarpd.8). This howto is _really_ close to being nicely supported: http://www.linux.org/docs/ldp/howto/Remote-Bridging/x19.html#AEN24 It discusses bridging two lans together over the internet. The only thing it requires, that isn't already included in your package, is tarpd. Tarpd is an arp server dameon which responds to arp requests, an essential tool for a tunnel and can be found at this address: http://freshmeat.net/redir/tarpd/10247/url_tgz/tarpd-1.6.tar.gz In either case, it's not that difficult to add in manually, but it's just one more thing the user can then do with your nifty distribution. Regards, Bob Clown |
