This email is to inform you about the release of version '2.2.1-BETA' of 'Cyrus IMAP Server' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/cyrusimapserver/ The changes in this release are as follows: New features include full read/write ANNOTATEMORE support, and use of annotations for some administrative operations. The sieve bytecode is also now portable across platforms. The virtual domain code has seen a substantial number of bugfixes, along with many other minor improvements throughout the code. Project description: The Cyrus IMAP server is generally intended to be run on sealed systems, where normal users are not permitted to log in. The mailbox database is stored in parts of the filesystem that are private to Cyrus. All user access to mail is through the IMAP, POP3, or KPOP protocols. The private mailbox database design gives the server large advantages in efficiency, scalability, and administratability. Multiple concurrent read/write connections to the same mailbox are permitted. The server supports access control lists on mailboxes and storage quotas on mailbox hierarchies, multiple SASL mechanisms, and the Sieve mail filtering language. If you would like to cancel subscription to releases of this project, login to freshmeat.net and choose 'home' from the personal menubar at the top of the page. You'll be presented with a list of projects you're subscribed to in the right column, which you may cancel by highlighting the project in question and clicking the 'delete' button. I took a quick look though the optional packages for interactive commands and came up with the following list. I'm thinking these should just install to $CDDIR all the time and not be optional any longer. Any additions/subtractions form this list? Anyone else working on moving any of them to $CDDIR? Anyone object if I move them? diffutils ethtool gnupg isc_bind_utils joe lftp lvm lynx mc mtools nail mysql_client openldap_client passwdgen pciutils postgresql_client raidtools rcs rpm sysstat tcpdump usbutils wget |

This email is to inform you about the release of version '1.9.1' of 'syslog-ng' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/syslog-ng/ The changes in this release are as follows: Instead of using a custom, generic I/O library, this release is based on glib. This release is still not intended for production use. It has a good number of new features and a couple of them may not be stable enough. Project description: syslog-ng, as the name shows, is a syslogd replacement, but with new functionality for the new generation. The original syslogd allows messages only to be sorted based on priority/facility pairs; syslog-ng adds the possibility to filter based on message contents using regular expressions. The new configuration scheme is intuitive and powerful. Forwarding logs over TCP and remembering all forwarding hops makes it ideal for firewalled environments. You might want to go into make menuconfig, Build System Configuration, and increase the Parallel Build Jobs number to take advantage of your hyperthreading. I'll be very interested in your result, to help me determine if I should upgrade. The only way I know to change it is in the grub/lilo MBR during the initial bootup, and /etc/sysconfig/config doesn't exist at that point in time (except tar'ed up on diskette/USB). We'd have to find some command line way of changing it. Just don't break my setup script screwing with the resolutions! ;-) - BS |

OK, I started from scratch, except for the src directory. I even downloaded all the cvs stuff fresh, and I started a fresh compile last night before going to bed. This morning, I still have the problem. The fact remains that I found a bug in the firewall script yesterday that is causing this problem. This email is to inform you about the release of version '2.05' of 'Syslinux' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/syslinux/ The changes in this release are as follows: In addition to bugfixes, this release adds a native Win32 installer (since the DOS installer seems to have problems on NT-based systems) for SYSLINUX, and adds MAC-based naming of configuration files for PXELINUX. Project description: SYSLINUX is a collection of boot loaders for the Linux operating system which operates off MS-DOS floppies, network servers using PXE firmware, or from CD-ROMs. It is intended to simplify first-time installation of Linux, rescue disks, and other uses for boot floppies. A SYSLINUX floppy can be manipulated using standard MS-DOS (or any other OS that can access an MS-DOS filesystem) tools once it has been created; and requires only a very small DOS or Linux program to create in the first place. It also includes MEMDISK, a tool to boot legacy operating systems from nontraditional media like PXE or CD-ROM. I didn't see any problems. I would suggest that you throw everything (except the /src directory) away and start from scratch. Heiko |
