Huh? I'm not following you (or maybe you're not following me? :) I'm talking about creating a LV name to store the Apache web site. http://www.devil-linux.org/newdoc/ch01s04.html#d0e568 Do you want to reuse one of other names, like /var/data ? Most distros store it in /var/www . - BS |

What we can mention is:
* kernel version (FreeSWAN and netfilter patches applied, maybe
mention some other important patch here)
* a lot new software (just mentioning the most important ones)
compiled with GCC stack smashing protector
* runs mostly from CD
* supports USB flash media as config storage
* can even be installed on usb flash and maybe other flash devices
* new build system for creating customized versions

The perfect release date for DEVIL Linux 1.0 is Oct 31, or Halloween! Or the evening of Oct 30th (Devil's night)! :-) Why didn't anyone thing of that before ... Duh! :-) It's a little less than two weeks, and will give us a chance to do some publicity. I think news sites will be more apt to pick up our press release(s) if we make a big deal about it happening on Halloween. Heiko, approve the date and I'll write up something. Other people should feel free to write articles too. I know a fellow LUG member who works at OSDN (slashdot, newsforge, sourceforge, linux.com, freshmeat, etc.) who told me before that he'd help me get something posted. (assuming I can write something decent) Heiko, you should compile 1.0-final a few days in advance so it's ready to go, just don't post it for download until 10/31. What ya think? - BS |

This email is to inform you about the release of version '1.2.12' of 'Distributed Checksum Clearinghouse' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can be found at http://freshmeat.net/projects/dcc-source/ The changes in this release are as follows: This version now reports checksums in greylist embargoed mail to a DCC server while waiting for the embargo to expire. This can let the very first copy of spam be rejected. Project description: Distributed Checksum Clearinghouse (DCC) is a system of clients and servers that collect and count checksums related to mail messages. The counts can be used by SMTP servers and mail user agents to detect and reject bulk mail. DCC servers can exchange common checksums. The checksums include values that are "fuzzy", or constant across common variations in bulk messages. If you would like to cancel subscription to releases of this project, login to freshmeat.net and choose 'home' from the personal menubar at the top of the page. You'll be presented with a list of projects you're subscribed to in the right column, which you may cancel by highlighting the project in question and clicking the 'delete' button. Sincerely, freshmeat.net ____________________________| Advertising |____________________________ Got the debugger blues? Try Etnus TotalView, the Best Linux/UNIX debugger on the planet.
