have the same problem this month already with another project on sourceforge... i've done diffs against the cvs and missed my changes.. the developer told me, he has commited them, but the never show up on the cvs. On Wed, 2004-01-14 at 04:20, Heiko Zuerker wrote: > Hey, > > I added 2 new functions to scripts/functions, to reduce the amount of > additional patches: > > old_kernel_includes > changes the include dirs so they point to the kernel 2.4.21 ones > > reset_kernel_includes > uses the current kernel's includes again. > > If you got a source which doesn't compile under 2.6, just add the call > to old_kernel_includes. > Before the execution of any build script, reset_kernel_includes is > automatically called. > > cu > Heiko > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.net email is sponsored by: Perforce Software. > Perforce is the Fast Software Configuration Management System offering > advanced branching capabilities and atomic changes on 50+ platforms. > Free Eval! http://www.perforce.com/perforce/loadprog.html > _______________________________________________ > Devil-linux-develop mailing list > Dev...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/devil-linux-develop |

hi heiko i've looked on the cvs on sourceforge and not found the changes... and see, the last change was a checkin of the changelog from friedl.. but scripts/functions is 2 days old... cheers oliver On Wed, 2004-01-14 at 04:20, Heiko Zuerker wrote: > Hey, > > I added 2 new functions to scripts/functions, to reduce the amount of > additional patches: > > old_kernel_includes > changes the include dirs so they point to the kernel 2.4.21 ones > > reset_kernel_includes > uses the current kernel's includes again. > Free Eval! http://www.perforce.com/perforce/loadprog.html > _______________________________________________ > Devil-linux-develop mailing list > Dev...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/devil-linux-develop |

you need lvm2 and diskmapper to use it in both 2.4 and 2.6... i've done here for evms... and 2.4..... diskmapper is a bunch of patches... i will do it, if i bring my damn gcc up and running.. the pwlib thing, http://www.openh323.org/pipermail/openh323/2003-September/030543.html but invest time to look on the other things.. cheers oliver On Tue, 2004-01-13 at 20:14, SourceForge.net wrote: > Bugs item #876303, was opened at 2004-01-13 14:14 > Message generated for change (Tracker Item Submitted) made by Item Submitter > You can respond by visiting: > https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=410643&aid=876303&group_id=34096 > > Category: None > Group: None > Status: Open > Resolution: None > Priority: 5 > Submitted By: Heiko Zuerker (smiley73) > Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) > Summary: LVM needs to be upgraded for kernel 2.6 > > Initial Comment: > I guess we need LVM2 > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > > You can respond by visiting: > https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=410643&aid=876303&group_id=34096 > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.net email is sponsored by: Perforce Software. > Perforce is the Fast Software Configuration Management System offering > advanced branching capabilities and atomic changes on 50+ platforms. > Free Eval! http://www.perforce.com/perforce/loadprog.html > _______________________________________________ > Devil-linux-develop mailing list > Dev...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/devil-linux-develop |

Hey, I added 2 new functions to scripts/functions, to reduce the amount of additional patches: old_kernel_includes changes the include dirs so they point to the kernel 2.4.21 ones reset_kernel_includes uses the current kernel's includes again. If you got a source which doesn't compile under 2.6, just add the call to old_kernel_includes. Before the execution of any build script, reset_kernel_includes is automatically called. cu Heiko |

the make prepare0 makes only the version.h file, the whole rest will be equal like before... so i cannot understand, why it fails now.... but i'm moving my build site to a faster server now... and then i can do a rebuild ... on my laptop it takes about 2-3 hours.. Yes that was the problem, the fix is in CVS. 'uname' now always reports the kernel version we use in the source tree. Heiko |

thats correct.. the missing version.h... of 2.6.. i've copied the one from the host system :-(, in the begining and forgot to do a proper fix... sooo.. there is another bug to fix !!! will look, when 2.6 will write this include file. and make a patch for the glibc procedure.. . I guess you didn't start with a fresh lfssystem, or? The glibc compile fails here, I guess because of a missing version.h in the kernel include dir. I'll keep you posted. Heiko |

this patch is only for the cvs version of glibc... not the taged 2.3.2 release.. i think, some distributions like redhat use a newer release then 2.3.2 supporting the netlink feature for linux... so they need the patch.. sorry for the crap i've sent !! the same at my run... i'm not sure, but i think, it applies after configure the glibc and build up the system dependencies.. will look on it after i finished compile all packages with 2.6 :-) hopefully this afternoon happens !! FYI .. i've looked on the patches to make freeswan running on 2.6, but they are all for freeswan 2.0 and higher... so my priority will be make the racoon running.....(compiles already)...
