I used Dev-C++ a few years ago, and discarded it as
being too buggy. After a long time of Delphi
programming I wanted to take up C++ again so I
downloaded the newest version of Dev-C++ and I must
give you my compliments: it works smoothly even
out-of-the-box and it looks very neat.
I only could discover one major drawback: the CVS
support. I - as many others probably - use Subversion,
the successor to CVS, but got stuck on the -z parameter.
It shouldn't be hard to tweak the CVS part so that it
can work with SVN too. The only caveat would be that
CVS uses update where SVN uses status, and that SVN
doesn't do compression, for the rest the command line
interface wouldn't have to change much.
Hope this gets implemented in a next release because I
can't imagine there aren't a lot of developers using
Subversion who would love to see this feature.
