Dev-C++ has not seen major active development in recent years. The original version was discontinued, but there is an updated fork called Embarcadero Dev-C++, which receives occasional updates. However, many developers now prefer modern alternatives like Code::Blocks, Visual Studio Code, or CLion for better support and features.

By the way, I was recently checking solar panel prices in pakistan, and it made me think about how energy efficiency matters not just in hardware but also in software! Lightweight IDEs like Dev-C++ can be useful for low-power systems. If you’re working on a resource-limited setup, it might still be a decent choice. 🚀

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Colin,

That’s a really interesting idea. I agree that making Dev-C++ extensible through plugins (especially support for DLLs and modern compilers) could attract more contributors. A modular approach always helps projects stay alive longer.

From my experience, whenever tools are made more open and flexible, the community tends to build useful add-ons around them. For example, in the renewable energy space I’ve seen developers create open-source calculators and utilities that anyone can extend or adapt. One project I worked on is a Solar Panel Price Calculator for Pakistan (https://solarpanelpriceinpak.pk/), which works like a practical “plugin” for decision-making — showing how modular systems encourage contributions.

If Dev-C++ had a well-structured plugin API, I believe we’d see the same kind of innovation from the developer community.

CM Punjab Green E-Taxi Program 2025 It has been a big decision taken by the Punjab government to provide employment to the youth, to provide employment opportunities to the youth and promote clean transfer. Those who are associated with transport or those students who have recently completed their degrees are being promoted.

So for them, the Punjab government is starting an interest-free electric taxi scheme. The registration process under this scheme will also be started and the registration process will be made easy so that everyone can join this program. 8171
