Hello, I thank you in advance for any help anyone could offer me.

I am playing Dragon Quest IX on DesMuMe 0.9.11. I managed to create a new game just fine, but I want to use my old save file from my R4 card, which works like a charm on my old DS. It uses .sav save files. I have tried to import the save file to continue my game, but it doesn't recognise the save automatically, or it doesn't recognise the size and tells me it is corrupted if I import it as backup.

Is there anything I can do ?

For reference and any testing needs, the save file I am talking about is attached to this post. The "legacy" part of the file name only refers to the fact that it's my old game with hundreds of hours put into it.

Sorry, I accidentally deleted your attachment
    1. Why are you using 0.9.11 instead of 0.9.13
    2. Are you using E or U (or JP..) version of the game
    3. For your information, this is not actually a .dsv file. It's a raw .sav file with the wrong extension.

Hello, to answer all three points you raised:
    1. I did not know there was a more recent version of the software. I will update it, provided I find where to download the 0.9.13 version. Even this website only offers to download ver. 0.9.11.
    2. It is the European version. I play the game in French.
    3. I did not know that either; I probably messed it up while tinkering with my files. I will change the extension so that it matches the file type with the proper extension.

I am assuming the fix you suggest is first to update DesMuMe, then try again to import the raw .sav file as backup save data?

As always, thank you for your help, and have a great day.

No, I just wanted to do it for you. This stuff is flaky. It's easier to do it than explain it. It's like juggling.

use the attached dsv. The following steps are just common sense, not mystical.

    1. make backups of everything
    2. clear out anything seemingly related.
    3. start the emulator and load the rom.
    4. CLOSE it
    5. check where the .dsv was placed
    6. replace it with the one I attached

I have followed the steps as listed with the file you provided and it works perfectly now!
Thank you for your time (and thanks as well for the great emulator by the way)! Have a great day!
