This is an old version of desmume. Use a newer version. Stop using hacks and cheats. Don't use savestates. Save in-game frequently, close the emulator, and reopen it. But perhaps you just ran into a rare bug in the game.

I removed the hacks and cheats but my game crashes I downloaded the most recent version and it shows me that my game is reset.
Perform more careful surgery transplanting your SAVE FILES to the new versions. SAVE STATES won't be portable.
