#1773 .ggz save for Desmume dark screen image: Pokemon platinum

Hi there, I have recently got back to playing a childhood favourite online on emulator websites, Pokemon Platinum. I have made some saves as .ggz files however, in order to get them to play I have viewed them in a zip given they are modified .gz archives, and used the .NDS save file within this as a load state on Desmume. However, when I do this the screen image is extremely dark, with no image for the lower screen of the DS.
Does anyone have any info on how to resolve this, and play on Desmume with full brightness and both screens? Any info appreciated!

savestates are not portable between desmume versions.
You have no idea what desmume version is used on "emulator website". Nor what they've changed even if you knew which version (number).
You must use in-game saves for this.
