Hi,
I've tried with many config but I can't solve an issue: the game Dragon Quest Heroes : Rocket Slime doesn't launch correctly, the starting screen is broke and trying to go further doesn't work at all.
Does someone know how to make a DQH : RS's ROM working ?

    define "broke" and "doesnt work". also try changing config > display method and config > 3d settings > renderer

    There is a lot of graphic bugs when starting the game : many charachters' sprites aren't there, the logo of the game and start button neither. Starting the game by pressing a button works, it loads the "choose a name" menu that is graphically bugged too, the slimes that are supposed to be on the top screen are missing and there seems to be parts of their sprites on the bottom screen, the whole image is kind of "locked", there is no cursor to show on which letter you are but clicking works since we can hear the selecting sound. By pressing start I can hear that it validates the name and just after this there is a black screen and the game is locked.
    I've tried all display methods and even if the whole game use 2D (it was released in the early DS' life) I've tried changing 3D renderers too and it's not working.

    Works 100% fine for me. You must be using a MANY YEARS OLD VERSION OF DESMUME!!

      uhhh thanks, I have the latest version and it works fine with every other games but I've tried uninstall and reinstall and it works somehow ?? Technology is amazing, to the people who will see this, have a good day !

    This problem is due to a bug with the Dynamic Recompiler (JIT). Some games have issues when the JIT Block Size is set too high, and this is one of them. If you set the JIT Block Size to 15, the sprites and title logo will appear correctly.

    Note that DeSmuME defaults to a JIT Block Size of 12, and so the user was the one who broke the game by changing the default setting.

    With that said, we'll keep this ticket open as another test case for the JIT.

    Im at the same point as first anon. Clicking the intro screen works, but I can't start a new game. All my config controls are default and untouched. Did I miss something?

      rocket slime? really? this is not a complicated game. in fact this is probably the only bug thread in the history of the universe about it. I just deleted my ini, launched rocket slime, and mashed ENTER and X while holding TAB and started a new game as far as the tutorial minigame in about 15 seconds

      Presumably it worked because you didn't realize you have to press buttons to play the game. Have you ever seen an NDS? It has buttons on it.
