When you see a "Valuable" file in the Matrix, but it isn't
worth anything, that doesn't mean it's not worth anything
to somebody else. If you download the file, you should
be able to save it for the next person that comes along
requesting that file type so you won't have to enter the
Matrix AGAIN for something you've already done.
Also, you could give the client a "sample" of what you've
done, so you can get some upfront pay--say, 50%? That
way, if you don't complete the mission, money IS
insured for that contract.
Of course as a weakness you'd only have one copy of
that file, and you can choose whether or not to give it to
the client after you finish the mission.

In reality, that works, but reality is often boring. I choose to see it as the client stuffed up at work yesterday and they want to remove the evidence that they've stuffed up. The files always change from day to day.
