No

I click on the play button. AC Tries to load but I get a
dialog box with "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library"
in the title bar. The error message says "Runtime
Error! C:\Program Files\A...Call\client.exe abnormal
program termination"

I'm on WIN98SE with IE 6.0 and the latest version of
decal. Everything is up-to-date (windows, ie, decal).
I've only installed decal, no plugins. The installation
went fine.

On a side note, I tried several older versions of decal,
and they all do the same thing. I think it was
decal_2000 and decal_2200 for the file name.

This happens every time. AC works everytime when I
don't load decal.

Just checking - you have clicked "Update" in the Decal
    agent, right? :)

    Yes, decal is up-to-date.

I don't know if this helps, but I get the same error with several
older versions of decal. Which is weird, because I had the
older versions of decal working before on this machine.

The only difference this time I wiped the hard drive and did
the WIN98SE install and removed ALL optional
components. I didn't want any of the extras. The PC is
    now dedicated to AC only.

There must be some required windows items that you don't
list. I say this because I installed

    WIN98SE without any extras
    Windows Installer for the MSIs
    AC
    IE 6.0

I then tried the decal install (current version). It failed saying I
needed the Windows Scripting Host libraries (not listed as a
requirement). I installed them from here

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/downloads/default.asp?
    url=/downloads/sample.asp?url=/MSDN-
    FILES/027/001/733/msdncompositedoc.xml&frame=true

Decal then successfully installed without a problem. I update
decal and run it, but it crashes AC just before
    the "connecting" screen.

AC works fine with the same system immediately afterwards
    if Decal isn't running.

    Help!

    TIA
