#19 Decal DLL's not registering

The exact message i get when trying to register the
DLL's with RegSvr32 is :

DLLREGISTERSERVER in C:\Progra~1\Decal\Decalc~1.DLL
failed. Return code was 0x80040154

It also fails to register the DLL's when using the
install prog. The message i get then is:

Error 1904. Module C:\Program
Files\Decal\DecalControls.dll failed to register.
HRESULT -2147221164. Contact your support personnel.

Decal will run even if the dll's arent registered, but
the plugins dont. Im guessing a quick 'n' dirty way
of fixing it would be to copy the DLL's into each
plugin folder, but i really would rather have it work
as it should.

Make sure you are running IE 5.5, a modern service pack for
your OS, and if you're using Win95, MS Active Accessability.

0x80040154 is "Class Not Registered". Probably means the
registration is happening out of order, but I'm not sure
why that would be the case in the MSI installer. Perhaps we
are linking against something not installed on some peoples
    machines?

I am not sure, but I belive this is happening to most
    everyone running Win2K.

Note the old V2 installs fine...its only the new vesion
1.x --->1.1 that throws this error on my machine.

OK, seems to be a nice valid problem. I don't know much at
all about VSI issues, so I'm going to pass this on to the
    resident installer creator :)

Woohoo.....I fixed my problem. Seems that this problem can
be caused by a number of things, installing a very early
release of office2K is one....and my case. MS dooesnt go
into specifically what breaks in the installer, but do
explain one potential method to fix it.

Simply unregister then re-register the installer using the
    command prompt:

    msiexec /unregister

    then...

    msiexec /regserver

    hope this helps.

ok, i can use decal 1.1. I uninstalled 1.0.2.2 and all of
the plugins, went into the directory and made sure the
files were gone, and when i installed 1.1, no errors,
    smooth as silk.

Only thing is, im using Win 98 SE, and decal 1.0.1 worked
fine. who knows, maybe i did something funky when
installing 1.0.2.2, i seem to remember uninstalling a few
times. Dunno. Anyways, as long as im no longer at 99.99S
99.99W according to 6th sense anymore im fine ;)

This appears to have been a freak configuration problem,
not an actual installer bug. Closing.
