I'm a PC technician and sometimes I've been using ddrescue to recover data from failing hard drives (for the healthy ones I use Clonezilla which I find better for daily use). I confess, I never used your tool because (correct me if I'm wrong) it's mainly a forensics tool for very specific targets. But I would like to learn more about ddrutility and use it along with ddrescue in order to offer my customers a better solution.
I read the wiki and you said that you are thinking of creating a new tool to replace ddru_findbad. Is this project still alive? Are you planning of make a new release for 2019 or later?
Anyway, is the last (2016) version still usable and compatible with the last 2018 ddrescue version?
Thank you in advance,
Bert

There is no new version of ddrutility. My new project is HDDSuperClone, but it is not open source. I don't know for sure if ddrutility is still compatible with the latest version of ddrescue, as I don't test it anymore. But I don't have any reports that it is not compatible.

Scott
