Nevermind, I figured it out I made my ddclient.conf look like:

protocol=zoneedit1
server=www.zoneedit.com
login=userid
password=password
host.domain.com
use=web
web=checkip.dyndns.org:8245

and I needed to delete my ddclient.cache before it would update
