you're right path is not correct... but that was not the reason. Had to change
path in ddclient where to find perl. Now it works again... i.e. still having
the same problem. So in fact newly installed, new ddclient.conf and still not
able to update.

Btw. to your question above: I'm not using a proxy

Linux distribution I'm using was pre-installed on the nasdrive (form Intradisk,
so called LAMP-openembedded Linux. I'm not sure if that helps...
