I am having the same problem that you mentioned.  You say that you entered the
userid incorrectly.  After reading the documentation, it is not clear to me
if each paramater needs to be defined on one line for if the login, password,
hostname needs to be on a line that is continued.

Question:  What was the correct syntax that you used in your conf file?
