Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4533689 By: wimpunk You can get the IP from eth1 if you use default network options: set your routing to checkip.dyndns.org on the second interface and ddclient will get the web-ip from there. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4521017 By: psadi I got a request to add support for updating round robin at zoneedit. From there docs http://www.zoneedit.com/doc/dynamic.html they state that "How can I do dynamic DNS for round-robin A records? If you need dynamic DNS for a host which has multiple IP addresses (round-robin load sharing), then you must first find the internal ID for each address by doing a "view source" on the "IP Addresses" screen. You can then select which address you're updating by specifying the ID number in the update URL, as in this example: http://dynamic.zoneedit.com/auth/dynamic.html?host=dyn.burtonsys.com&dnsto=66.57 .10.189&id=1076342 For maximum reliability, you should also configure website monitoring and failover service. This service will pull nonworking IP's from your cluster, allowing for greater reliability. Click here for more information." Is it possible to make ddclient able to update zoneedit in this manner? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4520939 By: wimpunk The bug you're referring to should be fixed in the most recent version of ddclient. Let me know if you can reproduce it. I'm currently working on a better -help function so I'll try to add it when restyling the help interface. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4505283 By: smartnow I don't wish to have ddclient in Memory all the Times. It should works only if is the IP Addess is changed and the Database is needed to update. Do You have a script for cron, please? Also do ddclient support the NO-IP Protocol? http://www.no-ip.com If not i must have noip2 in Memory all the Times!!! Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4505190 By: wimpunk The best way to make ddclient checks the ip every 15 minutes is by running it as a deamon: ddclient -daemon 900 It will automatically check your ip every 900 second and update if it's necessary. Ddclient finds it necessary if the IP is changed compared to its cache or if the last update was more than 25 days ago. Max-interval is set to 25 days to be conform to the dyndns recommendations. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4505085 By: smartnow Dear wimpunk I have made a Fault in mine /etc/ddclient/ddclient.conf I have write www.myhost.com,www.myhost1.com,www.myhost2.com but Properly is myhost.com,myhost1.com,myhost2.com I have CNAME enabled on my Account ad DynDNS Page. My Current Configuration: #custom=no #server=members.dyndns.org #static=no #use=web , web=checkip.dyndns.org /, web-skip='IP Address' #use=web, web=dyndns #max-interval=16d syslog=yes mail=root mail-failure=root ssl=yes protocol=dyndns2 daemon=600 wildcard=yes verbose=yes login=mylogin password=mypassword myhost.com,myhost1.com,myhost2.com use=fw, fw=192.168.1.1/homeRES.htm, fw-skip='IP Address' # found after IP Address fw-login=adminlogin, fw-password=adminpassword # FW login and password I have Router Netopia 3346N-VGx. This Configuration obtain Informations from Router and give my Current IP and the cache is writted rightly. I think it is the best Way to update Database via the cron. I use Gentoo. It would be nice if the ddclient check about every 5m the IP, and if is changed to update. Also every 15 days to force update Database, to save Domain from Expiration. Have You perhaps a working script for cron? Please enable in the Future Versions the Router Netopia 3346N. ddclient -geturl 192.168.1.1/homeRES.htm -login adminlogin -password adminpassword URL 192.168.1.1/homeRES.htm HTTP/1.1 200 OK Content-Type: text/html Date: Wed, 26 Dec 2001 00:33:00 GMT Expires: Thu, 26 Oct 1995 00:00:00 GMT Last-Modified: Wed, 26 Dec 2001 00:33:00 GMT Pragma: no-cache Server: Allegro-Software-RomPager/4.03 <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <title>Home</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"> <LINK rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/res.css"> <LINK rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/baseres.css"> <base target="_top"></head> <body background="images/background01.gif"><FORM METHOD="POST" ACTION="/Forms/homeRES_1"> <table cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0 width=750> <TBODY> <TR valign=top> <TD width=700> <table cellspacing=9 cellpadding=0 width=700> <TBODY> <TR valign=top> <td colspan=4><FONT face=verdana color="#336699" size=3><b>Connection Information</b></font> </td> </tr> <TR valign=top> <TD width="25%"><FONT face=verdana size=2><b>DSL</b><br> </font></td> <TD width="25%"><FONT face=verdana color="#3333cc" size=2><b><i>Up</i></b></font></td> <TD width="25%"><FONT face=verdana size=2><b>Connection</b><br> </font></td> <TD width="25"><FONT face=verdana color="#3333cc" size=2><b><i>Up</i></b></font></td> </tr> <TR valign=top><td><FONT face=verdana size=2><b>User ID</b></font><br> </td> <td align=left colspan=3><FONT face=verdana size=2>ac_...@bl...</font><br> </td> </tr> <TR valign=top><td><b><FONT face=verdana size=2>IP Address</font></b><br> </td> <td><FONT face=verdana size=2>83.77.41.53</font><br> </td> <td><FONT face=verdana size=2><b>IP Gateway</b></font><br> </td> <td><FONT face=verdana size=2>83.77.32.1</font><br> </td> <TR valign=top> <td><b><FONT face=verdana size=2>Primary DNS Server</font></b><br> </td> <td><FONT face=verdana size=2>195.186.4.109<br> cns2.bluewin.ch</font><br> </td> <td><b><FONT face=verdana size=2>Secondary DNS Server</font></b><br> </td> <td><FONT face=verdana size=2>195.186.1.109<br> cns1.bluewin.ch</font><br> </td> </tr> <TR valign=top> <td><b><FONT face=verdana size=2> Speed</font></b><br> </td> <td><FONT face=verdana size=2>6400/640 (kbps)</font><br> </td> <td><b><FONT face=verdana size=2>Line Attenuation</font></b><br> </td> <td><FONT face=verdana size=2>3/3 dB</font><br> </td> </tr> <TR valign=top> <td align=right colspan=4> <input type="submit" name="Restart Connection" class="buttonclass" value="Restart Connection"> <input type="submit" name="Disconnect" class="buttonclass" value="Disconnect"></td> </tr> </TBODY></table> <hr class="reshr" noshade><table cellspacing=9 cellpadding=0 width=700> <TBODY> <TR valign=top> <td colspan=4><FONT face=verdana color="#336699" size=3><b>Router Information</b></font> </td> </tr> <TR valign=top> <TD width="25%"><FONT face=verdana size=2><b>Router Name</b></font><br> </td> <TD width="25%"><FONT face=verdana size=2>Netopia</font><br> </td> <TD width="25%"><b><FONT face=verdana size=2>Model</font></b><br> </td> <TD width="25%"><FONT face=verdana size=2>3346N-VGx</font><br> </td> </tr> <TR valign=top> <td><b><FONT face=verdana size=2>Serial Number</font></b><br> </td> <td><FONT face=verdana size=2>27320768</font><br> </td> <TD width="25%"><b><FONT face=verdana size=2>MAC Address</font></b><br> </td> <TD width="25%"><FONT face=verdana size=2>00:0f:cc:a0:e1:c0</font><br> </td> </tr> <TR valign=top> <td><b><FONT face=verdana size=2>Software Version</font></b><br> </td> <td><FONT face=verdana size=2>7.7.1r1</font><br> </td> <td><FONT face=verdana size=2><b>Warranty Date</b></font><br> </td> <td><FONT face=verdana size=2>4/23/2007</font><br> </td> </tr> </TBODY></table> <hr class="reshr" noshade><table cellspacing=9 cellpadding=0 width=700> <TBODY> <TR valign=top> <td colspan=4><FONT face=verdana color="#336699" size=3><b>Local Network</b></font> </td> </tr> <TR valign=top> <TD width="25%"><FONT face=verdana size=2><b>IP Address</b></font><br> </td> <TD width="25%"><FONT face=verdana size=2>192.168.1.1</font><br> </td> <td width="25%"><b><FONT face=verdana size=2>Ethernet</font></b><br> </td> <td><FONT face=verdana color="#3333cc" size=2><b><i>Connected</i></b></font><br> </td> </tr> </TBODY></table> </td> </tr> </TBODY></table> </form> </body> </html> Thanks many for Your Attention and Help. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4503933 By: wimpunk First, the rc-files are distribution related. So if there's any problem with them, contacat the package maintainer. Trying to fetch the status of ddclient isn't a ddclient related part of the story. Those init scripts are to hard to maintain if you want a script for every distribution. If you want a _REAL_ check, use a basic way of working. `ps ax | grep ddclient` should show you something like: 4775 pts/0 S 0:00 ddclient - sleeping for 590 seconds Second, if you think ddclient fails after the first reboot of your router, try to get a log (syslog?) from it. I'm pretty interested in why ddclient should fail. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4503216 By: smartnow I have have interval 600, but I have probed with 100 for Test. Now is again 600. I have deinstalled ssmtp and installed postfix for now. /usr/sbin/sendmail is not more a Link. The hostname exist in the database certainly. Now it works, i have restarted Router and with Command /etc/init.d/ddclient start * Starting ddclient ... [ ok ] I have got my new Dynamic Address. Update works now. /etc/init.d/ddclient status * status: stopped But the ddclient is automatically stopped! Again /etc/init.d/ddclient start * Starting ddclient ... [ ok ] But again and again /etc/init.d/ddclient status * status: stopped I restarted my Router and /etc/init.d/ddclient start * Starting ddclient ... [ ok ] /etc/init.d/ddclient status * status: started >From KDE System Guard: ddclient - sleeping for 600 seconds but is not allways present. Now works as expected. Only I must twice restart the Router. Regards, ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4502881 By: wimpunk First, change your daemon interval to at least 300. Dyndns doesn't like if you use checkip faster. If you want a faster update, try to get your IP from your router. Second, ddclient just uses sendmail to send out mail. So if sendmail works correctly, ddclient can send out mail. Third, the returned message "nohost" means nohost: The hostname specified does not exist in the database. If you registered myhome.homelinux.org, you have to specify myhome.homelinux.org as your host. I know you did it for security reasons but www.myhost1.com doesn't look like a dyndns address to me. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4502863 By: smartnow I have ADSL and Router Netopia 3346N-VGx. If I restart Router, or Internet is interupted, ddclient don't update to the new Address. My Router at Address 192.168.1.1 give the new IP. If I fill these IP on http://www.dyndns.com manually, and all works. But I desire that ddclient update them auto. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4502588 By: wimpunk Btw, mine came from http://ddclient.sf.net. If you want to set backupmx you need a line after password saying "backupmx=yes" in lowercase. ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=4497119 By: kmos usage: ddclient [options] options are: -daemon delay : run as a daemon (default: 0). This shows the default is 0, but not if they're seconds/days/weeks/months. Should be fixed. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=206272 Thanks! ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
