Delphi P2P Network module being reviewed

Well, I have acquired a VERY nice module for P2P stuff using Delphi. Just take a look at http://www.dimetric.com I will be reviewing their Rinse product to see how well it will fit into the DCAST project.

On another topic, I am realy wondering if this should realy be Open Source. I mean, it doesn't need to be. No one has contacted me about working with it in about 1.5 years. If there isn't any activity on this puppy, I will do it myself and then later decide whether to move it to Open Source or not.

Here we go

Well, after a bit of a pause in work here, I have moved out of Vegas and back to my home state of Illinois. Now, I might actually have some time to work on DCast.

One of the sticky things I have been trying to deal with is the communications protocol. Media handling was easy. I tried & evaluated several communications packages but they just seemed too cumbersome or not quite complete for my purposes. Well, I went to a session here at BorCon 2003 put on by the fine folks at Dimeric. They have a fantastic distributed processing package called Rinse. Take a look at it here: http://www.dimeric.com I should be receiving my installation soon and will post my impressions.

DCast is up & running again!

After a long time of working on other projects and just surviving in Las Vegas, I have decided to start up this little project again. I can tell you that it WILL be using components that are not open source simply because these components are Just So Darned Good! Expect an update by 4/13/2003.

Delphi-Amp Project

I will be working on another couple of projects - The Audio Objects module (A Delphi program that plays MP3s, etc) at http://sourceforge.net/projects/audioobject/ and my new php3bcard project at http://sourceforge.net/projects/php3bcard/

I realy hope the first will help me out with DCAST and I also the second goes well... Might even make some money from that one!
