DBDOM to be presented at the O'Reilly Open Source Convention

Ari Krupnikov is scheduled to give a talk on DBDOM Friday, July 27 2001 at the O'Reilly Open Source Convention in San Diego, CA. The talk is part of the 'Cutting Edge XML' track and will be the first public presentation of this SourceForge hosted project. DBDOM alpha released

an alpha version of DBDOM was released today.
this version includes support for PostgreSQL and Java

Work resumes on DBDOM

After a period of inactivity, work has resumed on the project.
Updated PostgreSQL scripts have been committed to the cvs, along with some for Oracle and preliminary JDBC wrappers.

First pre-alpha code uploaded to the cvs

First few sources have been uploaded today.
These fileas are mainly PostgreSQL scripts that create tables and functions, along with a short readme.

DBDOM generates positive feedback at XMLDevCon 2000

I had a wonderful chance to discuss DBDOM face to face with some of the leading XML developers at the XMLDevCon 2000 conference held June 26-28 in New York. There seemed to be a lot of interest in the concept, particularly in the fact that it solves one of DOM's most frustrating problems - maximum document size.

As you may know, current implementations, especially the Java ones, have very high demands on memory, which makes working with documents larger than 1Mb almost impractical. Since DBDOM delegates memory and cache management to the underlying database engine, the size of a DBDOM tree is only limited by the available disk space.... read more
