i've been tasked with securely wiping our old server drives. These drives used to be in various servers, i suspect Netfinities -- cannot tell, because i just grab 'em out of a crate. However, they will connect  with an Adaptec 7895 backplane in a Netfinity 5000, so that's what i have to try to wipe them with.

The IBM ServeRAID BIOS sees the drive(s), but only if i go into the mini-config. During boot (without going into mini-config), the ServeRAID BIOS lists 0 Logical drives.

Basically, when i try to go into DBAN interactive, it tells me that non-fatal errors have occurred and saves a log file. (below)

i tried WIPEDRV, but it sees no drive. FDISK sees no drive. i read the FAQ here, and i do not have an option for HostRAID in either the ServeRAID BIOS or the Adaptec Configuration (after seeing the Adaptec card, "SCSI BIOS not loaded!" always appears, anyway).

i was hoping i could use DBAN to just nuke up to 4 or 5 drives at a time (fill the backplane, boot the DBAN floppy, and let it have at with no worries about wiping a needed drive). Is this possible, or do i need to be looking at something else? Since WIPEDRV doesn't work, i'm at a loss as to what to do.

Then there's a directory called PROC, but no txt files that i can see. If that also needs to be uploaded, let me know.

Thanks!
