I'm posting this again to see if anyone else has a answer for me.
I have the new hp envy notebook that is bad need to send it back to sales want to delete everything on it before. I have tried everything can't get the dvd to boot how did you remove the only entry wins boot manager from the list. I see in the bios boot options ( os boot manager) but don"t see the option too remove, enabled leacy support, then disabled secure boot did change order so it was on the bottom then put internal cd/dvd rom at top pressed enter still didn't boot. Any ideas? PS I'm new at forum talk so forgive me if I have done this wrong.

I have now tried the usb flash 2.0 with the same problem won't boot. Research has told that because of the usb flash 3.0 on the laptop may cause the problem need to disable 3.0 but you can't get into advanced bios the old way to change it you need to go threw the chipset I don't remember how to do that and I bet hp has disable it too. any ideas

DBAN is only a 32-bit BIOS boot disk.
DBAN will more than likely not be updated to support UEFI because it is basically adware for Blancco.
First of all, make sure you have created the reinstallation media or imaged the recovery partition, because if you don't DBAN will permanently destroy it.
Next, enable legacy boot (it may be called CSM) in your CMOS settings.
Finally, use legacy boot to run DBAN. (You remembered to make your recovery disks, right?)
