Another bizarre scenario... I've got a file - ww3.csv - that has two strings per line val1,val2 val3,val4 etc. I've got a report design - ww3rd.xml - that specifies the source as <source> <charsep sep-char=","> <column name="repdate" type="string" /> <column name="procdate" type="string" /> </charsep> </source> (and though it says "date" in the name, these really are strings in my CSV file) I need 2 parameters - an ID and a name field - so I have a ww3param.xml file that looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <parameters> <parameter id="1"><value>theidvalue</value></parameter> <parameter id="2"><value>The Name String</value></parameter> </parameters> What I wanted to do was view the report in the Swing viewer (as if I'd done a "Report | Run" from the designer) and look at the output. I tried this command line (on Win XP2 SP2): datavision.bat -w -r ww3param.xml -e ww3.csv ww3rd.xml I get the "Open..." dialog popping up. If I do datavision.bat -f ww3.pdf -r ww3param.xml -e ww3.csv ww3rd.xml I get the expected PDF file. Can I not invoke the Swing viewer from the command line? I was trying this as a proof of concept before I reworked something I did last week to use the CSV file approach. What's the "Open..." dialog looking for when it opens up? I'm not sure which file it wants - parameters? csv data? report file? Thanks. -- Warrick Wilson wa...@cw... |
