I wouldn't have had access to 64 bit really when this was added. Someone in irc likely mentioned it. Much has been done to improve 32 under 64 bit now.

Seems to be compiling fine under 64 bit here on ubuntu 12.04.
Jared, can you point out any examples of where it's not compiling on a 64 bit system?
