How hard would getting demo playback to work correctly? Moreover, having a random demo play in the background of the menu? You could even take away the color it so it wouldn't overlay the text either. Just a thought :)
I had already thought of playing a demo in the main menu background ... might not be as simple as it sounds, as a demo isn't simply a movie, but is actually executed in the level it had been recorded in. So D2X-XL has to do everything it does to regularly play a mission, like level loading, screen mode switching etc. and all that while the main menu is still running, which is quite a break from the usual way this works (either main menu or game).
