What OS (Windows / Linux)? You know that you have to move the control selection to the control you want to change with the keyboard's arrow keys, then press enter (the text in the input field should turn into a question mark then), then move the joystick handle?
For me that works fine.

I'm using Windows as it says in the milestone. It was working fine in an earlier version.
I just re-checked: It works perfectly fine for me.
Did you check your joystick settings in the windows control panel's device area?
