Introduction

You can install d2x cIOS through ModMii or d2x-cIOS-installer. The easiest way is the installer. It installs the cIOS directly, so a WAD Manager is not needed. The installer uses the IOS bases from sd/usb (you can get them via NUS Downloader) or download them using the wii internet connection directly. ModMii is really good too, but you need Windows to use it. Once you have the wad you can install them with a WAD Manager.

The recommended configuration: 249 base 56, 250 base 57

Details

ModMii:

• Download and install ModMii v4.8.1 or higher on your PC. Download link:

ModMii for Windows

• From ModMii's Main Menu, enter "4", then "beta"
• Select the d2x beta you want to build
• Mark some or all d2x cIOSs for download (i.e. "d2x")
• Enter "D" then "Y" to build d2x beta cIOSs\WADs
• Install cIOSs using a WAD Manager - i.e. WiiMod\MMM\YAWMM (available on ModMii's Download Page 2)

d2x-cios-installer:

• Download the latest d2x-cios-installer from its google code page:

d2x cIOS installer

• Extract it into the apps folder of your sd card or usb device
• Extract d2x-v7-final.zip or whatever the current version it is on your sd card or usb device into the folder /apps/d2x-cios-installer.

NOTE: This will overwrite the file /apps/d2x-cios-installer/ciosmaps.xml possibly present in that folder.You might want to rename it before extracting the d2x package.

• Launch the Homebrew Channel, start the installer and follow the instructions on the screen

The downloaded d2x-v8-final.zip is empty. I tried d2x-v7-final.zip and it is empty as well. Where else can I find the files?

It's actually not a zip but a 7zip file, use an appropriate program to extract it.

Hi all, Sorry for the lengthy problem description. I'm a noob and haven't done any Wii hacking in 2 years. My goal is to install multiple USB loaders, as Cfg v70 (on IOS 248) boots all my Wii rips with no problems but won't work with Wiiware/VC despite attempts at ISO forwarding, etc. From scouring forums, I'm under the impression that either USB Loader GX or Wiiflow is the way to go for Wiiware/VC booting from my FAT32-formatted USB Hard Drive.

Originally, I followed GAF's tutorial to install d2x v6 with bases 56 & 57 to IOS's 247 and 248. With this setup, Configurable USB Loader loads all my Wii games from my USB HDD without issue. However, all online tutorials I can find for GX and Wiiflow say they require d2x to be installed in IOS 249 and 250 (with appropriate bases). I've used DOP Mii to get rid of stubs on 249 and 250 but am afraid to proceed with installing d2x until I'm sure it won't interfere with my Cfg USB setup, make my Wii unstable, or brick it. Would it be safe to proceed, and would I need to alter any settings (i.e. bases)?

Try to update your usbloader. The latest controllers are not supported by older usbloaders.

hi i had the same problem , i think you must double check your D2X installer folder . there must be a file named : "Ciosmaps.xml" . you can find that file from the "d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vWii" .

if u use d2x you must use nus downloader or get the file "ios57-64-v5918.wad" which is the wad file used to plug the stub in ios250 base 57. It must be in your folder named "WAD" on the root of your sd card.

I have the ciosmaps.xml on there, but I still only see v4, v5 and v6. What could be the problem?

First of all, thanks for this excellent work. I am noob in the wii world, and I am trying to understand before messing with my wii. I have priiloader installed and there is always a warning of not modifying the IOS when priiloader is installed, but apparently this cIOS is installed in a free slot not modifying the original IOS (am I right?), my question is if I use the d2x-cios-installer instead of a wad, should I uninstall priiloader first or is safe to install it using d2x-cios-installer. am running latest usbloader, is fine except for when going to the second stage of the cios installer - I don't have a gamecube controller, anything else I can do?
