No

I tried all 3 flavors of it, and no matter what I change the BIOS settings to (or if I leave them at default), this new computer fails to run cutemouse. I'm using it via netbootdisk, but even run alone it fails to load properly. The very same disk loads on every other computer except the e6410.

    Hi Vultureman,

which messages do you get from the different versions
of cutemouse when trying to detect the mouse/touchpad?

I assume this device is internally PS/2 or maybe USB
simulating PS/2 (depending on BIOS "legacy" support).

You can try options such as /P and/or /3 for PS/2 and
three button mode, /W to avoid UMB usage, avoid using
EMM386 or similar drivers anyway, avoid using LH, etc.
Also, you can try to use the cutemouse mousetst tool.

    Thanks for the feedback :-)

    Eric

PS: Unfortunately sending email to your sourceforge mail does not work.

Sorry about that! It acted that way when I signed in using my google acct...now i'm on my sourceforge acct.

/p, /p /3, /w and a few others gave me something similar to "the driver is loaded at" then random characters.

The only option that worked was /V, which gave me "COM4 (0000h/IRQ3) in 51QB", but the mouse still doesn't work in applications that support it (ghost) after that.

It's hard to say exactly how the keypad setup is registering with the system on this model. With the Dell Latitude E6400, cutemouse loads properly and works properly, but on the E6410 it blows up.

FYI, this particular touchpad model has been causing loads of issues for people in Ubuntu too. The way that the system recognizes it is completely different than the e6400, and only flaky, half-working patches exist out there.

Same goes for the 6420. Mouse doesn't work with this either.
