This is really weird, I can use cut assistant normally, but once I uninstalled my Avanquest motorola phone tools (software to connect my motorola phone), cut assistant will not run.

    Hello,
could you please provide some more details: Version of CutAssistant, error message, when does the error occur?

The most probable connection between CutAssistant and other software might be via DirectX's DirectShow functions. Please try if you can play a movie with the Windows MediaPlayer oder MediaPlayer Classic.

I think I attached a bug report file in the attachment. Anyway, this problem occurs when I try to launch cutAssistant, there will be this error message and I can save it. It happened to cutAssistant 0.9.12.2 and 0.9.13.16.
I just installed K-lite codec pack in my PC, and checked my registry with some tools. I can play .avi movie with media player classic or other players. I also checked my directX version with dxdiag.exe, it was 9.0c and I didn't find any problem with it.
This problem definitely was caused by the uninstallation of Motorola phone tools(MPT), although this connection is so weird. I can use cutAssistant before I uninstall MPT, then it will fail once I uninstall MPT (without any other operation on anything). Actually I had this problem several months before and I need cutAssistant, so I restored my system with Norton ghost which also restored MPT. Then cutAssistant would work in restored system. Recently I really want to get rid of MPT, so I uninstalled it anyway, then CutAssistant cannot launch again.

I just found there was a Trojan in quartz.dll of my motorola phone tools... I first deleted that quartz.dll, then when I launched cutassistant, the setup program of motorola phone tools will appear first, once it was canceled, cutassistant can be started. Then I uninstalled motorola phone tools, cutassitant started to report error in starting again.
I reinstalled my directx and quartz.dll in system32 directory, but the problem with cutassistant is still there.
I have no problem playing movie in other programs.
