[CustomDNS] Status

I read the status of CustomDNS, and it sounds like there is no active
development going on for CustomDNS. Is that true?

I was interested in setting up a DNS hosting service using a DNS server
written in Java. CustomDNS is the only one I have found. Is there any
others? Is CustomDNS suitable for production yet?
