- priority: 5 --> 8
- summary: Now version conflict warning for binary files --> No version conflict warning for binary files
CURE does not provide any hint if conflicting versions of binary files are uploaded.
- A uploads V1
- B downloads V1
- A makes changes and uploads V2a
- B makes changes and uploads V2b (counted as V3 in CURE)
There is no warning for B that A's changes have been lost.
In fact, I think that CURE in some cases won't be able to detect if there are version conflicts as access to a document might not always be through CURE, but rather by email, USB stick etc.
Solution idea (from Till):
How about including a note in the save page dialogue that informs the user when he tries to upload a document that he has not yet seen in the newest version?
--> yes, this is a must, I think
I also thought about having warnings whenever a user updates a page (e.g., turning the title of the page red for all users who are currently viewing the page).
--> synchronous information is always very useful. Should not be too disturbing, e.g. do not change the page layout
