I've installed the latest versions of CUPS and cannot
get anythng to print. CUPS sees the printer connected
to '/dev/lp0' as an EPSON Stylus Color 777 and I'm
using the stcolor.ppd 'EPSON stylus color" ppd. CUPS
processes the file and shows it complete. I looked in
the errorlog and see entries for the filters - pstops -
pstoraster - rastertoepson. The file is the testpage.ps
from KUPS. Any help would be appreciated!

I have the same problem. Printing to a file is the only
output I can get out of CUPS. My error_log shows:
Job 7 queued on 'hplj6l' by 'root'.
Started filter /usr/lib/cups/filter/pstops (PID 1905) for
job 7.
Started filter /usr/lib/cups/filter/cupsomatic (PID 1906)
for job 7.
Started backend /usr/lib/cups/backend/parallel (PID 1907)
for job 7.
PID 1906 stopped with status 13!
PID 1905 stopped with status 13!
That's it .. job gets queued and then aborts.
I've searched for the status 13!, but couldn't find
anything. Lprng with Magicfilter worked on this system
before, but after installing and deinstalling CUPS, I
could not get it to work again. Looks like it's some
permission error (magicfilter error log said something
about lj4l no permission and aborted with JABORT). To the
best of my knowledge all the permissions are OK, but if
anyone got some pointers ?
/dev/lp* are a+rw root lp
root and user are part of group lpadmin
Running CUPS 1.1.6 on debian woody 2.4.7.(debian debs)
gs 5.50-8
Anyone ?

Duh!!!!
I found my own answer - The Epson Stylus Color 777 has a second button that needs to be pressed once
on boot into Linux. It is not labeled or described in any docs as an "online" button. It also doesn't need to
be pressed in Winblows. So after hours of looking for the problem, I got P****D off and just pressed it and
viola my data came out. I looked on Epson's website and found nothing there either.
