So far, a lot of the base work has been started, like support for persistent sessions, user logins, access control lists, and dynamic page content. These things might need refined. There are a few features that I'd like to add, like persistent sessions without using cookies, and HTML filtering. The current stage of development is that we have an almost complete 'base' to build a website with. Personally, I'd like to build a match-making site, targetted for colleges and universities. However, once the base is complete, other people could use it for whatever they want. So, to answer your question, the 'base' of the project is near completion. The 'rest' of the project (a match-making site), is just beginning. > How do I install this? Is it working version? As it stands, the codebase isn't really user-friendly when it comes to installing and configuring it. The 'database' directory has some SQL queries to create a MySQL database. The database/tables has the SQL to create the tables, and the database/data directory contains the data. You can install the database by running the following commands from the 'database' directory: mysql -uroot -p < create_cupid.sql mysql -ucupid -pcupid cupid < tables/*.sql mysql -ucupid -pcupid cupid < data/*.sql Hopefully, you won't get any errors when you do this. If you do, and you can't figure them out. Let me know - I'll give you a hand. Once the database is installed, you should edit the httpd.conf file to your server. Also, there is a line in the startup.pl file that needs changing. The 'use lib qw(/path/to/cupidcms/lib);' needs to be adjusted to your install directory's lib directory. >I am just eager to test it out. If you have working version up on your >server, please let me know. Try http://cupidcms.artisticfreedom.org/ It's pretty bare right now. If you log in as super/super, you should be able to wreak havok with what little of the site exists. :P > Also, give me brief summary of what is going on and what needs to be >done. >Thanks :) Right now, I'd like to make the base code work with both mod_perl versions (1.x and 2.0). This started out as an experiment of mine with Apache2 and mod_perl2. However, we should be able to garner more interest and support in the project if we make it compatible with a stable version of mod_perl. I'd still like it to work with mod_perl 2.0, though. When that is done, there are a few more features I'd like to complete in the base, like HTML filtering and cookie-less sessions. There may be features that you (or others) may want to add as well. There also needs to be some site design with regards to content and the database. If this is going to be a match-making site, we'll need to add some content/features that cater to people that would use the site, like user profiles, people searches, match-making 'algorithms', advertising/classified space, etc. Hope this helps.
