My $.02 worth on the python library name.

Of all options, I think pythonlib or pythonapi better convey the meaning of it.

I think pythonlib sounds better (in my opinion), but a search reveals
that the pythonlib name was already used in dissimilar projects (the
most important one being a library of Python functions used in
RedHat).

As for pythonapi, the same search reveals less references - an
indication that potential name clashes are much less probable.
